Upland
Hunts
 |
Professionally
trained guides and field dogs work in tandem in the fields
to find the birds for the guests. Hunting behind dogs is an
exhilarating experience! The dogs love to hunt and want nothing
more than to find those birds for you. The pointers go on
point, the hunters move in to flush the birds, then hunters
takes his or her shot(s), and the retrievers are off in |
| search
of the kill! At Tradition Outfitters, the walk-up hunts may
be taken in the morning or the afternoon. A half-day mixed
bag hunt for pheasant, chukar and quail (or all pheasant,
or all quail). Morning hunters go out at 9 AM and are finished
around noon. Afternoon hunters go out at 2 pm, and are unloading
there guns in time to watch a beautiful Texas sunset. |
Our
guided hunts are made up of 2-4 hunters. We hunt in native
prairie grasses, milo, and cornfields. Most of our hunting
is done walking. Breaks are taken during the hunt to water
dogs and give the hunters a rest. Please let us know the
pace you enjoy hunting. We have fast and slow working dogs.
Our guided hunts are designed to accommodate your style.
Hunts
can be arranged to include the a verity of the three most
exciting upland birds. Chukars, Pheasant , and Bob-white
Quail are some of the hardest flying birds you can find.
These sporty birds challenge even the most accomplished
wing shooters. |

Tower
Hunts
 |
Just
imagine 100 to 250 magnificent pheasant, in their prime, bursting
out of the tree tops or soaring overhead, as you prepare to
take aim and shoot. Our Tower Shoots are modeled after the
European driven shoots in Scotland, where a line of 5 to 10
shooters await the arrival of pheasants bursting onto the
scene, soaring overhead. After the drive is |
| over,
the dogs scout out and bring back all of the birds that have
been killed on the driven shoot. Afterwards, the driven shoot
is followed by a traditional walk-up hunt to find and flush
the birds that got away on the driven portion of the hunt! |
|
This
event will challenge even the best shooters and sharpen
your shooting skills with fast moving, high-flying excitement!
Tower shoots are great for larger groups and are ideal for
corporate entertaining with a minimum of 10 shooters and
a maximum of 24.
Hunters
are stationed at multiple shooting locations as pheasants
are flighted from a tower. You know when the action has
started by the sound of gunfire. Each station is spread
far enough from each other for safety purposes and also
to provide a different hunting perspective. During the
|
 |
|
shoot, each hunter will rotate to other shooting stations
and each hunter will utilize all shooting stations. At the
end of the hunt all birds are divided up equally between the
hunter. |
